Ninety Nine / Your Heaven

Assalamualaikum guys!

Yesterday was Maal Hijrah so.. I hope it’s not too late to wish everyone a happy new year! To many more beautiful years ahead for all of us, in sha Allah!

For those who are celebrating the new calendar with your wife/husband and kids, please don’t forget to be with your parents too. Trust me, you are more than blessed if you happen to still have them around!

Alang alang menyeluk pekasam, now that we’re in the heed of the moment, let’s talk a little bit more about our parents.

I am sure many people know that both my husband and I have not been blessed with a child (or two) - even after almost three years of marriage.

Oh wow wait. I have been married to the love of my life for close to three years? Time flies like a G6 man! Oh well people say that time goes by pretty fast when you’re having fun lol.

Anyway, back to my topic, we are truly fine and we don’t mind it. Allah swt is the best planner, and we are sure that us not having kids right now is for the best.

My biggest worry is that.. What if, when we eventually have kids, after showering them with abundance of touch, love and care for them to grow up with, fifty years down the road (if I am granted with such long life to even survive that long)  they would just.. abandon us and refuse to be with us?

They would come to us when they need something, ie; money, advise etc. But will they come back to us when we need them to care for us? To accompany us?

If we have more boys than girls, will they be responsible over us? Would they just be fast to respond only when it comes to things that would actually benefit them? Would their response be just as fast as when we want to offer them things?

So many what ifs. Would we rather have 5 kids who couldn’t care less about their parents or just 1 who we could count on anytime any day?

To all of you out there, love your parents.

Especially to you boys. Remember, your heaven lies with your mother. Be good to her and she’ll open your way straight to jannah.

May He bless us with his taufik and hidayah.

Amin.
