For Future Journalist? I think not. Working in the Broadcast Journalism industry isn't all that bad. It was okay. I guess. It's just that, well. It's foreign and new and what we learnt in school isn't what it is in real life. I swear.
So my first two weeks as a Broadcast Journalist intern went well, perhaps. All the news I wrote went out,
Alhamdulillah. I went to 5 assignments altogether and I get to learn so many new things.
It's interesting, really. I like going out and meet new people, also the fact that we have our own pilot so I don't really have to go through all the hassle and drive in the middle of the traffic.
Okay whatever. Enough about me. Now, my grandmother.
Everyone knows how hard it is to contact me whenever I'm at work. The newsroom is like a vortex. A blackhole. No reception! But maybe because I'm using wahahaha DiGi (don't get me wrong, I love DiGi okay) so my only source of communication is the social network. Itu pun kalauuu ada desktop free.
So last Thursday, as usual, no reception. I was in there in the newsroom doing my assignment. Of all days, I decided NOT to drive to work on Thursday. I was a little late, so Muhammad sent me to work.
Then at 6ish, I see 6 misscalls from Baby, my sister, 4 misscalls from my house and 2 from Atuk. All the calls didn't get through so DiGi sent me texts saying these numbers tried calling.
Baby tweeted "Katin call me now. Urgent." twice.
So I went out to the lobby and pooom tiba tiba my sister whatsapp.
"Baby: Katin, Uwan accident again. Langgar tiang elektrik. This time in our lorong itself."
Whoaaaaa berderau darah baca. Just 4 months ago, Uwan got into an accident with my car, she drove to 7-Eleven and a motorcycle ran into her. But she was left unhurt.
Anyway this time, she hit the tiang elektrik, not so far away from home (more like 40m away from home) and because she didn't wear the seat belt, her jaw hit the steering and she fell to the side, left rib hit the handbreak and gear.
Sigh....
She shouldn't drive anymore. But Uwan is as degil as a 4yo, she loves driving. Tapi...
But she's fine now, Alhamdulillah. Thank God. No more driving for her. No more.
