Sixty Five / Ma, Emak, Ummi

I love talking to my mom. You know why? Because she is one of the wisest person I have ever encountered in my 24 years of living.

Ok maybe that's because I do not know that many people, and also due to the fact that she's a lawyer, and we live in the same house since forever, hence the bias-ness. But really, talking to her is like talking to a private counselor. A pembimbing to the core.

Yesterday we were talking over lunch, as per usual. I told her about how some of my friends are at the top of the world, doing really well, flying high from coast to coast. "I envy them," I said.

Her reply?

"Kalau kita bercakap tentang agama dan akhirat, we look up to those who are better than us, so we will aim to be better.

Kalau kita bercakap tentang duniawi, tengok lah orang orang yang lebih rendah and susah than us, this is to make sure kita tidak bongkak."

*tersedak nasi*

People always ask me. "Bedah, aren't you scared? Your mom is on Facebook. She knows what you are doing. She reads your blog, check out your Instagram. Isn't it scary?"

Truth be told, I have absolutely nothing to hide from my mom. I want my family to love me for who I am, not what I tend to be in front of them.

After all, she is supposed to know me in and out, anyway.

Salam.
